Terms and Conditions
QISMATLY TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions govern applications for membership, membership of Qismatly, use of the Qismatly website and participation in introductions arranged through Qismatly.
Qismatly is a UK-based trading name providing a private Muslim marriage introduction service.
For enquiries, please contact contact@qismatly.com.
1. About Qismatly
Qismatly provides a private, personally curated marriage introduction service for adults seeking marriage.
We are not a dating website, public member directory or automated matchmaking platform.
Our service is based on personally getting to know applicants, considering whether Qismatly is suitable for them, and representing accepted members when considering potentially suitable introductions.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or over to become a Qismatly member.
Qismatly operates predominantly in the United Kingdom. We may, however, accept applications from individuals living elsewhere and consider international introductions where we believe they may be suitable.
Membership is always subject to acceptance by Qismatly.
3. Applying for Membership
You may register yourself or be referred to Qismatly by another person.
Registering or being referred does not automatically create a membership, and no membership fee is payable at this stage.
After an application has been received, Qismatly will arrange a personal conversation with the applicant, normally by video call.
We use this conversation to understand the applicant more fully, including their:
- background;- family circumstances;- values;- personality;- lifestyle;- preferences;- hopes for marriage; and- other information relevant to representing them appropriately.
We also use the interaction to take reasonable steps to confirm that the applicant is genuinely the person represented in the application, and that photographs supplied appear to represent them.
4. Membership Acceptance
Not every application will be accepted.
Following our conversation and review of the application, Qismatly will decide whether we believe:
- the service is suitable for the applicant;- we understand the applicant sufficiently to represent them;- our approach and expectations are reasonably aligned; and- we are reasonably placed to consider meaningful introductions on their behalf.
If we do not believe we can represent an applicant meaningfully, we may decide not to proceed with the application.
5. Membership Fee and Start Date
Qismatly membership currently costs £199 for six months.
This is currently an introductory membership fee and may change for future applicants.
You do not pay when you initially register.
Payment is requested only after Qismatly has:
- reviewed your application;- spoken with you and seen you, either virtually or in person;- completed our initial verification process; and- confirmed that your application has been accepted.
Your six-month membership begins on the date your membership payment is successfully received.
6. Membership Period and Extensions
Standard membership lasts for six months from the date payment is received.
There is no automatic renewal.
At Qismatly's discretion, we may extend a member's membership for up to a further six months at no additional charge.
An extension is offered as a matter of discretion and goodwill and is not guaranteed.
7. What Membership Includes
Membership may include:
- an initial detailed personal consultation;- creation and management of your confidential member information;- personal representation by Qismatly;- ongoing consultation and discussions with Qismatly representatives;- ongoing consideration for potentially suitable introductions;- manually selected introductions;- confidential sharing of biographies;- staged sharing of additional information where appropriate;- support during the introduction process;- communication with family members where appropriate;- assistance arranging an introductory telephone or video call;- assistance arranging a face-to-face introduction; and- assistance involving parents or family members where requested.
Qismatly does not simply compare written profiles. Our introduction decisions are informed by what we have learned through speaking personally with our members.
8. No Guarantee of Introductions or Marriage
Qismatly does not guarantee:
- a fixed or minimum number of introductions;- that a suitable introduction will become available during your membership;- that another member will wish to proceed;- that an introduction will lead to a meeting;- that an introduction will lead to a relationship, engagement or marriage; or- any particular outcome.
We would rather make no introduction than suggest someone we do not genuinely consider suitable.
If an introduction does not progress, the member returns to the Qismatly matching process and will continue to be considered for suitable introductions for the remainder of their active membership.
9. How Introductions Work
Qismatly uses a private, staged introduction process.
An initial biography may contain information concerning character, personality, family, background, values, lifestyle, preferences and other relevant information, while withholding the individual's photograph and personally identifying details.
If both individuals choose to continue, further information may be made available, including a photograph.
If both subsequently choose to proceed, additional identifying information and contact details may be shared so that the introduction can move forward.
Qismatly can further assist with the first call, meeting or family introduction if requested.
10. Biography Access
Qismatly biography links are private and time-limited.
Unless otherwise stated, a biography link will normally expire three days after it is sent to the recipient.
The link is intended only for the person to whom it has been provided, and solely for the purpose of considering that introduction.
11. Confidentiality
All biographies, photographs, personal information and contact details supplied through Qismatly are private and confidential.
Members must not:
- forward biography links;- screenshot biographies or photographs;- photograph them using another device;- download or save photographs;- copy member information;- forward photographs or personal details;- publish information;- upload information or photographs elsewhere;- share information on social media; or- use another member's information for any unrelated purpose.
A member may show a biography or photograph directly to an appropriate parent or close family member where this forms part of considering the potential marriage. However, the biography, photograph or personal information must not be forwarded or separately copied for that person.
Every Qismatly introduction should be treated with dignity, confidentiality and discretion.
12. Accuracy of Information
Members must provide information that is truthful and not materially misleading. You should notify Qismatly where important information changes during membership, particularly information that could reasonably affect another person's decision to consider an introduction.
Qismatly relies partly upon information provided directly by applicants and members. Although we speak with applicants and carry out reasonable verification, we cannot independently guarantee every statement made about an individual's history or circumstances.
13. Verification and Safeguarding
Every applicant accepted into membership will have been personally spoken to and seen, either virtually or in person.
This enables Qismatly to take reasonable steps to confirm:
- that the person exists;- that they appear to correspond with the identity represented to us; and- that photographs supplied appear genuinely to be photographs of that individual.
This process is not a criminal-record check, financial background check, formal identity-verification service or comprehensive due-diligence investigation.
Members remain responsible for exercising their own judgment and carrying out any further checks they consider appropriate before marriage.
Any safeguarding concern can be reported to contact@qismatly.com.
14. Member Conduct
Members must treat other members and the Qismatly team respectfully.
The detailed rules governing acceptable and prohibited use of Qismatly are contained within our Privacy & Acceptable Use Policy.
15. Communication and Meetings
Once both parties have chosen to proceed and contact details have been shared, members may communicate directly.
Qismatly can remain involved where requested, including facilitating:
- an introductory call;- a face-to-face meeting;- communication between families; or- a meeting involving parents or relatives.
Where members choose to communicate independently, they remain responsible for their own communications, decisions and meetings.
16. Cancellation Rights
Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory rights available to consumers under applicable UK law.
Where applicable, consumers entering into a service contract online may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days.
Because Qismatly membership begins when payment is received, you may be asked to expressly request that Qismatly begins providing the service immediately.
If you validly exercise a statutory cancellation right after requesting that services begin during the cancellation period, Qismatly may deduct or retain an amount proportionate to services already supplied, where permitted by law.
To request cancellation, email contact@qismatly.com.
17. Refunds
Outside any refund or cancellation right required by law, membership fees are generally non-refundable.
A refund is not automatically due because:
- no introduction has been identified;- an introduction does not progress;- another person decides not to continue;- a member changes their mind;- a particular introduction is unsuccessful; or- membership does not result in marriage.
The £199 fee covers Qismatly's wider membership service, including consultations, assessment, representation and ongoing consideration for introductions.
Qismatly may nevertheless agree to a full or partial refund in exceptional circumstances at its discretion.
18. Ending Membership
A member may ask to stop participating at any time by contacting contact@qismatly.com.
Ending participation does not itself create a right to a refund.
Qismatly may suspend or terminate membership where we reasonably believe there has been:
- material dishonesty;- impersonation;- misuse of confidential information;- misuse of photographs;- harassment;- abusive or inappropriate behaviour;- fraud;- a safeguarding concern;- breach of these Terms; or- breach of our Acceptable Use requirements.
19. Qismatly's Responsibility
Qismatly will provide its service with reasonable care and skill.
Qismatly is an introduction service and cannot control or guarantee:
- another person's conduct;- another person's intentions;- the accuracy of every statement made by another individual;- attraction or compatibility;- relationship outcomes; or- marriage.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
20. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy & Acceptable Use Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.
Privacy enquiries should be sent to contact@qismatly.com.
21. Changes
Qismatly may update these Terms where reasonably necessary.
The current version will remain publicly accessible through the Qismatly website.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections applicable to a member based elsewhere.
